The networked business environment and Web 2.0 have greatly facilitated information sharing, user interaction, and partner collaboration. Social media are increasingly used in customer relationship management and crowd sourcing. Knowledge embedded in business networks and social media could potentially help to derive business intelligence and to better understand stakeholder relationships and activities. This research stream tries to uncover the knowledge by developing scalable techniques to explore stakeholder networks. Theoretical and technical issues in stakeholder analysis will be explored.
The cyber space is emerging as a new battle field for law enforcement, military, and security agents, who face unique challenges of identifying and responding to threats from cyber-criminals and terrorists. New techniques and approaches are needed to tackle these challenges. This stream of work aims to develop and to validate a framework and a new class of information systems that detect automatically from multiple sources of information cyber-threats that pose risks to the cyber-security community.
The Internet has gained popularity worldwide and will continue to grow amidst soaring usage of the Web in different languages. Multinational organizations (MNO) are investing in emerging economies where English is not a primary language. However, most existing technologies have been developed for English-speaking users and fail to address the needs of Web searching in a multilingual world. This research stream explores managerial and technical issues related to mining the Web in a multilingual world.
