P&G Business Analytics Scholarship Award Ceremony
3/29/2022 -- The P&G Business Analytics Award Ceremony celebrates the achievements and commitment of a group of undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Business. CoB Dean Dr. A.J. Grube awarded the scholarships to students in the ceremony hosted by Dr. Wingyan Chung on 3/29/2022. The awardees are Carter Bennett, Jessie Hull, Andra Smail, Simon Shuster, Jose Valdez, Madison Cope, and Viktoriya Marko. View the picture here and the video here.
Funding Awarded by P&G
1/10/2022 - Proctor & Gamble Company awards a grant of $20,000 to a project led by Dr. Wingyan Chung. The project is titled 'Curriculum Development for Nurturing the Next-Generation Business Analytics Leaders' that aims to support students career development, experiential learning, innovation, and collaboration in business analytics in the western North Carolina regions.
Three papers published in ARBS 2022
3/25/2022 - The Appalachian Research in Business Symposium (ARBS 2022) publishes three peer-reviewed articles authored by WCU faculty and student in its proceedings. Two papers address various issues in business by using artificial intelligence (AI) and business analytics technologies. Another paper reviews the state-of-the-art AI technologies and applications in business. The paper authors include Dr. Wingyan Chung and Zackery Busby (MAcc student).
Excellence in Research Award by CoB
4/23/2021 - The College of Business's Dean, Dr. AJ Grube, bestows the Excellence in Research Award to Dr. Wingyan Chung (award picture). This award is conferred to one faculty member per year in the College to recognize a meritorious body of work in research, publications and intellectual contributions.
Hunter Scholar Award
3/23/2021 - Dr. Wingyan Chung receives the Hunter Scholar Award (award picture). Conferred to one faculty member university-wide per year, the Award (list of scholars) promotes and supports faculty research integrating Hunter Library’s resources and services. The Hunter Scholar Award Committee consists of Associate Dean of the Library, two members from the Graduate Council, a representative from Research Administration, and the current Hunter Scholar. Chancellor Kelli Brown announced the award in the annual faculty scholarship celebration (live broadcast).
College of Business Summer Research Grant
4/26/2021 - The grant is given to support a research project on using social media networks to manage knowledge assets. Dr. Wingyan Chung is the primary investigator of the project, which examines the use of social media analytics and network technologies to study online social activities.
Graduate student receives WCU travel award
3/14/2022 - Zackery Busby, an MAcc graduate student, receives the WCU travel award. The award supports Zackery to travel to present papers in the ARBS academic symposium, held in Eastern Kentucky University during March 24-25, 2022 (https://business.eku.edu/arbs-2022).
